NEW FOR FALL 2016: Social Connections Social Skills Group
Social Connections is a social learning club, led by Randee Kleeman, M.A., CCC/SLP. The club will address skills related to social thinking and social-communication. Lesson plans will cover topics such as: asking questions to learn about another person, making comments, beginning/maintaining/ending conversation, joining in conversation or play, recognizing facial expressions/body language, improving perspective taking, understanding the "hidden" curriculum, improving one's understanding of literal language (sarcasm, idioms, inferences, humor), being flexible when things don’t go “my” way, and interpersonal negotiation/compromising. Specific lessons will be designed around the needs of the group.
